This is a really interesting article, on one hand it confirms the rumors about Segway that existed for years.
But more important, it also tells the story how Segway has become profitable and that we can expect new model(s)/product(s) in 2012.
Now I have to put on my wishful thinking cap for the moment, wouldn't it be great if these new model(s)/product(s) would be available at the annual Segway enthusiast event, Me and My Segway, that would be awesome. Ok, enough wishful thinking for now. Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.
Ten years ago, inventor Dean Kamen introduced the Segway, which Apple's Steve Jobs and Amazon's Jeff Bezos loved. It flopped, but is now making inroads.

Although I had clearly announced it on Facebook, some of my friends have missed all my messages (which is one of the bad habits of Facebook) and are wondering where I am?
I have said goodbye to Facebook and Hello to Google+, Facebook was already a pain in the neck for me a long time, it didn’t allow me to do whatever I wanted to do, uploading photos didn’t always work, etc. etc.
Besides my personal problems with Facebook, Facebook has also been too many times in the news, never with any positive news. I can’t remember that I have ever heard any negative news on GMail, oh no, once it was down for a few hours, but nothing happened, no messages or accounts were lost. That is quit impressive, to say the least. So that’s in short why I made the switch to Google+.
SO far I’m really liking the Google+ experience, at the moment of writing, I have 60 friends who are having me in their circles, so I can see what they are writing and they can see what I’m writing. Circles works a bit the same way as Twitter friendships. When I add somebody to one of my circles, I can see what he/she is writing. Only when the other person adds me to one of his/her circles he/she can read what I’m writing. This is of course handy for all the famous people on this planet, their fans can read what he/she is writing, but the list of status messages that the famous person sees is only filled with people that he/she is following, so there is no need for Fan Pages like Facebook has.
At the moment you can only Google+ by invitation, so find a friend and ask him/her to send you an invitation and join the fun.
Oh yes, for people who are wondering if I’m still on Twitter: Stop working that hard, have some more fun and try to stay up-to-date, I killed my Twitter account something like 1,5-2 years ago.

Triggered by the Facebook Pages of celebrities, I thought that it would be cool to have something similiar too.
For example when you take a look at the page of Sharon Corr, you will see that she has a lot of extra sections/tabs with all kind of content.
So after a few hours of fiddling with all kind of Facebook applications, they all stated that I needed to have a page, that I would take the plunge. I clicked on the big button to convert my profile into a page. I would loose my messages and photos, which isn’t that a big deal for me, so I clicked the button to convert it.
At first, it all seems to be great. As you can see in the picture I was able to create all the extra tabs that I wanted. I got a tab with my youtube videos, another tab for my Picasa pictures taken with my EYE-FI card, etc.
But then when you want to see what your friends are doing, I noticed the downside, Facebook had turned my friends into fans of my newly created page, which seems fine. But in contrary to friends on Facebook, I suddenly can’t see anymore what they are sharing. So actually changing your profile into a page isn’t really a social move, because you loose the relationships and you can’t interact with your friends.
So if you want to create a page to have all these fancy extra functionalities, then make sure you create a separate page, which will exist next to your profile.
I have placed a request to change my page back into a profile, that step into the process they haven’t automated yet, so I will have to wait until someone at Facebook helps me.
So hopefully I will be back social at Facebook soon. Stay tuned.

It’s not that I was planning to suddenly redesign my whole blog. I knew that the content on my blog was a bit dated, but somehow my Mac Mini, which acted as web and mail server, had also realized that the content was dated and decided that it was time to have a hard disk crash.
And of course everyone knows that he/she should make backups on a regular basis, but most of us always seem to forget this, including me. So my last backup was from december 2009.
So I’m suddenly forced to redesign my website. Any how, stay tuned for more stories soon.
